https://proceedings.uinsaizu.ac.id/index.php/faiths/article/view/1329

This study aims to reread Qur’anic verses on ecology in order to critique the concept of anthropocentrism, which positions humans as the center and ruler of the universe. Such a reading is increasingly urgent, as today’s ecological crisis is not only caused by natural disasters but also by human domination over nature. Using ecofeminism and Islamic eco-theology as analytical frameworks, the research raises fundamental theological questions: If nature was created before humankind, does the Qur’an—as a continuation of divine revelation—truly authorize humans to dominate nature in ways that lead to imbalance and injustice? This study employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical method by observing ecological realities and conducting a literature review of Islamic texts and interpretations related to anthropocentrism and nature. The findings suggest that rereading ecological verses in the Qur’an can offer a new paradigm of environmental care rooted in gender justice. An anthropocentric view not only accelerates ecological degradation but also reinforces gender inequality and marginalizes vulnerable communities. Therefore, this rereading invites a more inclusive and balanced Qur’anic interpretation—one that nurtures harmony between human beings, nature, and the divine.
Al. https://proceedings.uinsaizu.ac.id/index.php/faiths/article/view/1330

This research examines the concepts of forgiveness and deliberation (musyawarah) from an Al-Qur'an perspective, specifically Surah Ali Imran verse 159, and their relevance to forgiveness therapy. This verse emphasizes the importance of gentleness, not being hard-hearted, forgiving, and consulting as foundations for interaction and decision-making, even after mistakes. This study employs a qualitative approach using literature review and content analysis to examine interpretations of the verse from various classical and contemporary sources. The findings indicate that the concept of forgiveness in Q.S. Ali Imran:159 is not only personal but also social and spiritual, involving the remission of sins, self-acceptance and acceptance of others, and relationship restoration. Similarly, the principle of deliberation highlights the importance of engagement and dialogue in finding solutions, which is essential in the reconciliation process. Furthermore, these findings identify how the principles of forgiveness and deliberation in this verse can be implemented in strategies and techniques of forgiveness therapy, helping individuals overcome resentment, anger, and inner wounds, and achieve psychological and spiritual well-being. This research is expected to enrich Islamic and psychological knowledge, providing a theoretical basis for developing forgiveness interventions rooted in Al-Qur'an values.
Frendi FernandoHartono

https://proceedings.uinsaizu.ac.id/index.php/faiths/article/view/1334

This article aims to examine the characteristics of the Kitab Jazariyah in terms of its content and presentation, particularly in the Pegon-script translation version. Kitab Jazariyah is a classical work in the field of Tajwid, authored by Shaykh Muhammad bin Muhammad Ibn al-Jazari, a highly authoritative scholar in the sciences of Qira’at and Tajwid. The book serves as a refinement of his earlier work, Wifaqu Tilawah, which also discusses the fundamental theories of Tajwid. In the Nusantara region, especially in Java and Madura, the book has received significant attention from Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). One form of appreciation for this work is the translation into Javanese using the Pegon script, as carried out by Kiai Masajid bin Hasan. This translated work was published by Maktabah Ahmad Numan in Kediri, East Java. The method used in this study is library research, focusing on the analysis of the Pegon-script translation of Kitab Jazariyah by Kiai Masajid, supported by secondary literature such as relevant books and academic articles. The findings indicate that Jazariyah not only presents the theories of Tajwid in a systematic manner but also serves as an effective medium for learning, as it is composed in the form of nazam (rhythmic poetry), which facilitates memorization. The existence of the Pegon version further contextualizes this book within the educational tradition of pesantren in Indonesia.
Sri Nur BarokahDyah Puji Mega HapsariLayla Nur ShikhaLugas Muhammad AldianAnastasya Siam Andriyani

2025-07-272025-07-27414810.24090/faiths.vi.1295The Role of Arabic in Islamic Education In Southeast Asia to Strengthen Intercountry Socio-Religious Relations
https://proceedings.uinsaizu.ac.id/index.php/faiths/article/view/1292

Arabic language has long been central to education in Southeast Asia; its potential to strengthen socio-religious relations between nations remains underexplored. This Study investigates how Arabic language instruction in Indonesian pesantrens, Malaysian madrasahs, and Southern Thai Islamic schools contributes to transnational Muslim connectivity through mixed-methods research combining interviews with 30 educators, classroom observations, and document analysis. Key findings reveal that 78% of teachers consider Arabic proficiency vital for cross-border collaboration, with institutions teaching Modern Standard Arabic demonstrating 40% greater student participation in interfaith dialogues compared to Quranic-only programs. Graduates from Arabic-intensive curricula were three times more likely to engage in regional Islamic initiatives, though gender disparities persist in transnational opportunities. The research identifies "functional Arabic competence" as a crucial skill that bridges religious traditions and contemporary geopolitical needs, where Arabic serves dual roles as both a liturgical language and a diplomatic tool. These results suggest that standardized Arabic proficiency metrics and enhanced teacher training could amplify Arabic's unifying potential across Southeast Asia, particularly when combined with extracurricular programs like intercultural exchanges. The study provides empirical evidence for re-conceptualizing Arabic education as a platform for both spiritual development and regional socio-religious cohesion, while noting implementation challenges, including conservative resistance and urban-rural disparities in educational resources.
Muhammad Agus SofianYuslina MohamedSilviana Zahra

2025-07-282025-07-2895116Tajwid dalam Naskah Arab Pegon: Analisis Isi Kitab Tuhfah al-Aṭfāl dan Relevansinya bagi Pendidikan Pesantren di Jawa
https://proceedings.uinsaizu.ac.id/index.php/faiths/article/view/1394

The Tuhfah al-Aṭfāl, a classical Arabic Pegon text, represents a significant contribution to the transmission of tajwīd (the science of Qur’anic recitation) in the context of Javanese Islamic education. Originally authored by Shaykh Sulaimān ibn Ḥusayn al-Jamzūrī, this didactic poem (naẓm) has been translated into Javanese using Pegon script by Kiai Aḥmad Muttahhar, making it accessible to a broader audience of santri (students) in traditional Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). The primary objective of this study is to examine the textual characteristics and structural composition of the Pegon version of Tuhfah al-Aṭfāl, with particular attention to its pedagogical presentation and local linguistic adaptation. This research employs a qualitative literature review method, focusing on textual analysis of primary sources and the interpretative context in which the translation operates. The study finds that the use of Arabic Pegon script in the Javanese translation not only preserves the phonetic and semantic integrity of the original Arabic text but also aligns it with regional linguistic norms. The structured and accessible presentation of tajwīd rules in this text facilitates learning among students and the lay Muslim community. Furthermore, the translation contributes to the ongoing preservation and revitalization of the Pegon script tradition in the Indonesian archipelago. In conclusion, Tuhfah al-Aṭfāl in its Pegonized form serves both as a pedagogical tool and a cultural artifact, bridging classical Islamic scholarship with local vernacular expression
Alan MuzakiSahya Abista SalsabilaRifanul Mahmudah SalsaGhina Sofinayah

https://proceedings.uinsaizu.ac.id/index.php/faiths/article/view/1395

This study explores the teaching of Ilmu Tajwid (the science of Qur’anic pronunciation) in a concise and accessible manner, particularly for students and teachers at madrasah Ibtidaiyyah (Islamic elementary schools). The central focus of this research is the book Syifā’ul Jinān by K.H. Ahmad Muthohhar, which is regarded as a significant reference in the learning process of Qur’anic recitation. The book adopts a communicative approach, utilizing simple and clear language to accommodate beginning readers, especially at the elementary level. The research employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The primary source analyzed is the Syifā’ul Jinān text itself. In the process of translation, the author seeks to maintain accuracy of meaning and pedagogical relevance, while aligning with the Islamic scholarly tradition prevalent in pesantren and madrasah environments. Despite careful efforts, the author acknowledges the potential for interpretive errors, thus remaining open to corrections and guidance from religious scholars as a form of both academic and spiritual responsibility. This study is expected to make a valuable contribution to the development of Ilmu Tajwid education at the elementary level and to strengthen religious literacy among children from an early age. Moreover, the research emphasizes the importance of contextual and communicative approaches in transforming classical Islamic knowledge to ensure its continued relevance and applicability in modern educational settings.
Abdurrahman AlfarisiKhilmy Makarin NuhaSalsa Saputri
