Abstract

 This study redefines ecological rehabilitation in the upstream area of Mount Slamet through an ecotheological lens, framing environmental degradation not merely as a spatial crisis but as a disruption of cosmic stewardship (khilafah). Driven by unconstrained land-use changes and the lack of data-driven monitoring, this research develops SlametWatch, an integrated WebGIS platform designed within the framework of technology for planet restoration. Utilizing a Full-Stack Spatial Data Science methodology, the study integrates Sentinel-2 imagery, SRTM topographic data, and disaster datasets. Land cover classification is performed via the Random Forest algorithm, while land-use projection up to 2035 is modeled using Artificial Neural Networks and Cellular AutomataMarkov. Vulnerability and ethical land management are evaluated using Spatial Multi-Criteria Evaluation and Land Capability Suitability models. The results demonstrate a classification accuracy exceeding 90%, revealing a critical expansion of built-up areas and deforestation intersecting with high-risk disaster zones (KRB II and III). This intersection exponentially amplifies the risks of landslides and lahars, highlighting anthropocentric exploitation. To restore ecological and spiritual equilibrium, this study identifies 1,660 hectares of priority restoration areas requiring approximately 664,000 trees. SlametWatch serves as an innovative, participatory citizen-science tool that bridges advanced geospatial artificial intelligence with ecotheological obligations, transforming land rehabilitation into an integrated tech-faith ecosystem for sustainable planet restoration.
