Abstract

This study investigated the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing students' writing skills through the use of Cambridge’s Write & Improve tool. The research aimed to examine two main objectives: first, to analyze how the tool provided personalized feedback that supported students in improving their writing performance; and second, to explore its impact on students’ motivation and confidence in fostering independent writing. The analysis focused on key features such as grammar correction, vocabulary enhancement, sentence structure simplification, and coherence support. These features were found to contribute significantly to the development of students’ writing by offering iterative learning opportunities, promoting self-correction, and reinforcing confidence through positive feedback. Although the tool demonstrated considerable benefits, the study also identified limitations, including the potential for overdependence on the technology and its limited capacity to interpret complex contexts. The findings concluded that while Write & Improve effectively supports writing development and autonomy, it achieves optimal outcomes when used alongside traditional instructional methods. Recommendations are provided for educators to integrate the tool as a supplementary resource that encourages reflection and active engagement in the writing process.
