Abstract

This research examines the concepts of forgiveness and deliberation (musyawarah) from an Al-Qur'an perspective, specifically Surah Ali Imran verse 159, and their relevance to forgiveness therapy. This verse emphasizes the importance of gentleness, not being hard-hearted, forgiving, and consulting as foundations for interaction and decision-making, even after mistakes. This study employs a qualitative approach using literature review and content analysis to examine interpretations of the verse from various classical and contemporary sources. The findings indicate that the concept of forgiveness in Q.S. Ali Imran:159 is not only personal but also social and spiritual, involving the remission of sins, self-acceptance and acceptance of others, and relationship restoration. Similarly, the principle of deliberation highlights the importance of engagement and dialogue in finding solutions, which is essential in the reconciliation process. Furthermore, these findings identify how the principles of forgiveness and deliberation in this verse can be implemented in strategies and techniques of forgiveness therapy, helping individuals overcome resentment, anger, and inner wounds, and achieve psychological and spiritual well-being. This research is expected to enrich Islamic and psychological knowledge, providing a theoretical basis for developing forgiveness interventions rooted in Al-Qur'an values.
