Abstract

The most essential ingredient in language is a vocabulary. It is from vocabulary that all linguistic constraints will be useful to each other. A person can produce more variation words from his mouth in accordance with how rich the vocabulary is in his mental lexicon or brain. The study aims to investigate vocabulary proceeds in second language learning for EFL students in Indonesia. The qualitative descriptive method was used in this study. Data were collceted through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the strategy in learning vocabulary is by knowing the basics and media that can be used. To increase vocabulary, students can go through various online and offline media, such as dictionaries, storybooks, applications, movies, online podcasts, songs, and the biggest influence is through language courses.
